Editorial standards

Useful writing begins with care for the reader and respect for the facts.

Personal experience and evidence

This is a personal journal. My experience is my own, and it does not mean everyone has the same experience. When I draw on research or professional guidance, I include references so you can read further. I do not invent personal experiences, sources or quotations.

References and quotations

Research and resource articles link to the sources that support their factual claims. I prioritise original research, official documents and first-hand records. External quotations belong only in Lifestyle and Mental Health. Quotations in the other reflective rooms are my own words.

Health and practical resources

Resource information includes the location, eligibility, costs or limitations where these can be checked, along with the date of review. Services and coverage can change, so please confirm details with the provider.

Interviews and privacy

Guests will understand how their contributions will be used. Personal experiences will be identified as such. I will obtain permission before publishing identifiable contributions and check credentials before describing them.

Corrections

To report an error, email hello@lifeanddiscourse.com with the article link, the statement in question and a supporting source where possible. Material factual corrections will include a dated note.

Partnerships

Paid partnerships, sponsored articles, gifted products and affiliate relationships will be disclosed clearly where they appear.
